The pivot point in reverse is at the hitch as it is with any conventional hitch ball. Any inputs into the hitch from the direction of the tow vehicle will pivot the head and turn the trailer. There is a slight delay when pivoting on the links but it is imperceptible to most people. The customers who do comment on the backing all say how much easier it is to back up their trailer.
