The v2 jacks were developed for a few reasons, primarily we wanted to have a jack that we manufactured in house without having to rely on anyone else. We also wanted to have a design that could be built on for multiple hitch designs. Although the v2 jacks do ultimately serve the same purpose as the Legacy jacks did, they do have improved ease of use with a single threaded shaft eliminating the need for the gearing like in the Legacy versions. The shaft also returns back into itself so you have no additional height from the jack assembly. The v2 also is mounted with dual u-bolts eliminating the need for a shim in the base. The v2 design also mounts off to the side of the frame to allow greater clearance on the tongue.
