Do you need the "lot bar" assembly to back the trailer into a driveway?

No, the trailer will back up with the 3P hitch installed. Nothing needs to be removed or loosened. The Lot Bar is typically used by dealers or storage facilities who have a hitch ball mounted on their fork lift to easily move trailers around the lot or storage facility.
